Travel: The Boutique Bed and Breakfast Hotel, Tagaytay
The City of Tagaytay is in the province of Cavite, Philippines. It is only 55 km away from Manila via Aguinaldo Highway, and is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations. Tagaytay City provides a good view of the Taal Volcano and Taal Lake. The city is a popular summer tourist destination because of its cool climate due to its high altitude.
Tagaytay is 2-3 hours away from Manila. I don’t mind driving there on weekends. Driving up the highlands with cool wind blowing on your face is awesome. What I don’t handle very well is heavy traffic! Hence, whenever we go to Tagaytay, we leave early morning, usually stay overnight and go back to Manila the next day before traffic builds up.
I love personalized hotel service. A typical Tagaytay get-away entails staying in one of the several boutique hotels promising personalized service. My favorite amongst them all? The Boutique Bed and Breakfast Hotel!
The boutique hotel was conceptualized by Happy Ongpauco and Dexter Tiu in 2007, inspired by weekend getaways, travel adventures, and passion for food and culture. The boutique bed and breakfast restaurant is located along the Tagaytay Ridge, overlooking the breath-taking view of the Taal Volcano Lake.
The lobby which caters to guests waiting for their rooms to be cleaned up, or guests waiting for a table cleared up at The Hawaiian Bar-b-que restaurant (the hotel restaurant) table to cleared is elegantly designed with dark tall furnitures.
Our room for our Tagaytay weekend get-away was “i surrender.” The other rooms were named i lust, i dare, i dream, i love, i escape.
All room rates are inclusive but not limited to the following:
- Welcome drinks and local delicacies.
- Complimentary fruits and midnight snack with hot chocolate.
- Bedside nibblers.
- Specially prepared (all-day) breakfast served in bed – for two (2).
- Complimentary 10 min de – stress massage – for two (2).
- Selections of body essentials from the home made “pamper me” line.
- Surprise treat during movie time.
- Selection of pillows (goose down, microfiber, etc.) from our pillow menu.

- Free WiFi / Wireless Internet Access.
- Wall-mounted LCD TVs in all rooms.
- Ipod ready speakers and docks.
- Free use of DVDs from our DVD library
The owners have thought of possible ways to make the experience and stay personalized by allowing all guests to choose their own mix and match of hotel items from this mini room. Guests get to choose their type of soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner from lavender, oat, peppermint, etc from the “Pamper Me Line.” The Pamper Me Line is The Boutique’s own line of body bath and beauty essentials for their guests.
Guests are entitled to a massage each. Feel free to choose between foot massage and face massage.
The Boutique Bed and Breakfast also offers breakfast in bed services. Breakfast courtesy of the The Hawaiian Bar-b-que restaurant.
The boutique is an excellent boutique hotel for guests looking for some R&R. Do note that it doesn’t have a pool nor a game room, as its main offering is the personalized service and its relaxing ambiance!
I love. I still love the Boutique. Awesome experience. Excellent personalized customer service. Good food. Review of Hawaiian Bar-b-que restaurant to be posted soon.
