Food Trip: Midnight Mercato @ BGC
Welcome to Midnight Mercato at Bonifacio Global City. Midnight Mercato is the newest hangout for late night food enthusiasts from in and around the Metro. Midnight Mercato is the Philippines’ own version of the Hongkong-style night markets and hawker centers, but guests get to enjoy their food with live acoustic music on organized tables inside an air-conditioned tent.
Midnight Mercato is the night version of Mercato Centrale, the weekend day market. Midnight Mercato is definitely suited for night people who can’t wake up early on weekend mornings. (Disclaimer: But I wouldn’t mind waking up early one weekend morning though to try out Mercato Centrale’s weekend breakfast meals. I’ll probably do that after biking around BGC. Paging Lee Ann for a bike date again).
RJ Ledesma, inspired by the night markets and hawker centers of nearby countries Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand conceptualized Midnight Mercato with Anton and Mommy Mundo. Midnight Mercato has a great selection of food, varying from comfort food to the usual Filipino street food to upscale gourmet finds. Midnight Mercato promises to be the late night destination for food enthusiasts in and around the Metro.
Midnight Mercato used to be located on the corner of 30th Avenue and 9th Street but it has recently transferred to 8th Avenue and 4th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It is open every Friday and Saturday from 10:00pm to 3:00am.
See you there next weekend!
