Food Trip: Food Styling and Food Photography Lessons with Sir Jo
I’ve been receiving a lot of email invitations to conduct restaurant reviews lately. Some email invites were sent by the resto owners themselves.
In line with the continuing effort to improve my craft and to give justice to the presentation/plating of the food served, I knew that I better take up additional official photography lessons — this time: food styling and photography. And who do I turn to for photog advice? Sir Jo Avila of course.
I first met Sir Jo nine months ago when I enrolled in one of his classes. Nine months after, I again find myself in his studio aka the vintage toy shop. This would be my second set of photography lessons under his mentorship. Unlike my first class in the studio nine months ago, Sir Jo would be teaching the class with renowned food stylist, pastry chef, and cookbook author Chef Pixie Sevilla-Santos.
