29 March 2010
Travel: Acuatico Beach Resort
March is one of the months my whole family looks forward to every year. It represents several life milestones. Milestones that give us reasons to celebrate. Reasons for celebrating include: (a) mom – Mom’s birthday, (b) mom and dad – parents’ wedding anniversary; (c) younger brother – end of masteral classes; (d) son – end of classes; start of summer vacation; (e) and me? – I’m just happy to explore another place with my fam.
This March, I brought my family to Acuatico Beach Resort. Acuatico beach resort is a prime resort in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. One of my high school friends was raving about it since summer 2009. I swore that I would bring my family to the resort in 2010.
I had to book early. Acuatico’s usually fully booked from early March to early June. I called them up late January to reserve a family suite — soonest available late March.
The resort was awesome! The view from the Oceania resto and the pool bar was spectacular. The crystal blue infinity pool seemed to be meeting the blue waters of the ocean.
The rooms were clean and cozy. They come complete with hot and cold shower, LCD TV, airconditioner, etc.
The resort is extremely kid-friendly too. Sean played in the entertainment center while waiting for me to sign the docs to check-in.
Bringing food and drinks in the resort is not allowed. You can have snacks and meals at Oceania resto. Buffet is served every dinner and lunch.
You can have cocktails and drinks at the pool bar.
Rooms are fully booked from early March to early June. If you really wanted to experience the Acuatico experience, feel free to reserve a day tour area for a minimal fee.
I reserved the room on March 27th. Coincidentally, it was the same date when Earth hour is observed. All resort guests went to the beach for the torch-lighting.
Getting ready for earth hour
Stairs leading to the beach
Moonlit and torch-lit beach from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Kids playing with sand at 8:30 PM
Travel Date: 27-28 March 2010
Budget: PHP 10,500 for family suite (good for 4 adults + small kids)
free use of kayak and paddle boat
free use of Acuatico ammenities (e.g. playroom, infinity pool, lounge chairs by the beach)
lifeguards always on duty
all-day coffee and team
Place: Acuatico Beach Resort
Address: Laiya San Juan, Batangas, Philippines
Telephone Number: +632 892 7577 to 79 – Open from 9am – 6pm Mondays – Fridays
Others: Travel time from C5 lasted for four hours. It could have easily been a three-hour drive along SLEX + STAR expressway. However, traffic in Sto Thomas, Batangas was unbearable as several politicians was campaigning through the town.
