Food Trip: Cafe by the Ruins at Baguio
Café by the Ruins is a fave tourist destination. The ambiance of the Cafe corner is enticing with the traditional and cultural wears.
The settings are intricately surrounded with bamboos and canes. This bistro offers you a huge variety of Benguet coffee and herbal teas. It also offers full meals and organic salads. I and my family never fail to go re-experience the cafe’s ambiance whenever we go to Baguio. I never pass up a chance to eat organic mountain rice and flaked beef tapa.
This bistro was the residence of the governor of the Benguet. The Cafe was built from the house’s ruins. Café by the Ruins stood to be the witness to the Second World War. The building was severely damaged and destroyed. It took years to renovate this piece of history. Guests could view the photos and paintings of the old building, some of the frames were for sale, yet others were only up for display.
